I'm trying to reassemble my '60 TO35 hood. This model has 4 cross braces and a single threaded knob to hold it down.
Does anyone know how the spring hinges are supposed to go? I have the long piece with the cotter pin on top,and the short one directly under it, both on top of the cross member, curved end up.
This seems to work, but the "spring action" wants to pop the hood open when the knob is unscrewed. Is this correct?
Also, what is the knob supposed to look like? I'm thinking a knurled knob, 1 1/2" diameter?
