I have a 1951 Harry Ferguson T20 ...when i depress clutch petal down it will not go into gear. Grinds gear when forced. Any help would be appreciated.

Joe with the clutch petal up when it stops (foot peg)there needs to be a 3/8" of play before engaging the clutch it can be easily adjusted try that first

Just curious if the tractor has been sitting unused for a while. If so the clutch plate could be stuck to the flywheel. Could try rocking it with the clutch pedal blocked down.

The Clutch Plate is stuck to the Flywheel, this can be caused by oil on the plate and it is holding water vapour that causes it to rust. You will probably end up taking out the engine. You may be able to free it if you can start the Engine and attach a chain to something solid, with tractor in 1st gear and a little throttle, drive with the pedal held down and allow the chain to tighten, it may free it or it may not.
What model of tractor do you have, T20 is not a model, it is either TO20 or TE20 NO T models ever! John(UK) [email protected]

I freed one by putting tractor in gear and pulling with another tractor while depressing the clutch quickly several times till it freed! My 2 cents worth! Got info from the form! Thanks Gene
