Hey guys hope you can help me out some I just bought a 2135 today but not sure on the year of it the serial number is :sdm648000816 . It's got the Diesel engine a high low range with four forward gears and reverse. I don't know what year it is and wanted to get manuals for it owners, shop, parts manuals but don't wanna order the wrong ones. It's my first tractor so just trying to do this tractor right as I own a ranch 38 acres and plan on this being my forever tractor. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Aye. Aye I say. Wasn't The Standard Co part of British Leyland by the time the 2135's came out? If a diesel, my money's on it being a Perkins.
Mine has narrow/ vineyard axles, so is this one at the Charlane Farm... did I spell that wrong?
I decided not to post a picture of my Standard diesel running... some people may be eating while reading this....

Sorry supergrumpy...the 2135 (or the 135) never used the Standard diesel They did however use the Standard petrol engine. All diesel 2135 or 135s were fitted with Perkins 3 cyl 152 engines. But you are correct....Tony does have bother with his smokescreen! Sam

Hi Juan, Your's would be a 1965. It would have a
Perkins 3 cyl diesel which is good news. I have a
lightly used op manual and parts book. No shop
manual tho. These are MF originals. $10 each.
Postage prob.$6 for both Parts book is 233 pgs.
Chuck

not a MF expert but:

SDM = regular frame tractor - Standard Diesel - 2 stage clutch

serial numbers over to the left don't go that high but number kinda series looks to be late 60's

in 70's they went to serial numbers starting with a 9 and used Perkins diesel engines

if your engine has 4 cylinders it is likely a "Standard" brand engine, very sturdy but some peole had trouble starting them, Tony has one that smokes very nicely
