i know this site sells these items and i have bought here before but never any electrical components.

thanks,
steve

I have good luck out of Borg Warner stuff. I always buy the Select series if it's available because the Select series exceeds OEM specs. I use Borg Warner electrical stuff on all my tractors and vehicles too.

I was just out on my tractor tonight and noticed the amp meter showed in the discharge area.

just installed a new Borg warner regulator a few weeks ago on my to-35 and it worked great.

I do not know if I got the select series or not.

tomorrow I will check to be sure my generator is working properly, if so, I will take the regulator back off and request one of the select series as a replacement.

some day I am going to throw that old generator away and get an alternator and hopefully my electrical problems will be solved for a while.

the new regulator is not near as heavy duty as the old original delco unit.

You sure don"t have good luck with your charging system do you Maxwell? There has to be something else going on I would think. The select series I put on my MF 175 was made exactly the same as the original Delco I replaced on it. Over two years now and it has given me no problems. Originally I did try a cheaper one on it and it wouldn"t charge at all. I put a Borg Warner voltage regulator on a friends MF 35 well over a year ago and it"s still going strong with no issues. When your regulator goes out have you ever took the cover off to see what caused it to quit?

no, I have not opened them up as I do not want the store (advance auto) to think I have been tinkering with it and that is what made it fail.

my thought is this: old one not working, install a new one and it works, then the charging system is working on the old tractor, problem is just the voltage regulator.

I will ask about the select series today when I go in and tell them to order me another one.

they want the old one back when you pick up the new one. store policy

AS for the charging system why don't you install an internal regulated Delco alternator. These can be installed using only one wire. Unless you are concerned about "originality". There are folks that sell complete kits or just the mounting brackets. Be ware with most of these you will loose the tach as they make no provisions to drive it. If the tach needs to function you would need to install the old Delco that used a separate regulator. Note some of these will or can have the tach drive installed.
