just got back from going all over town talking to the counter boys about oil.
but, no luck so far, no multi viscosity non-detergent or low detergent oil to be found
(boy-o-boy did I get some funny looks),
Maybe I am overthinking this problem:
I may just get the sump oil hot, then drain it out and add back GL-1 oil, maybe I can add a bit of zinc additive to help take care of the wear.
and just not worry about it for another 5 years or so.
as others have said, it's worked fine for the last 56 years.
That non detergent 10w30 lawnmower oil at home depot maybe semi synthetic oil and I for sure do not want that oil in the old tractor sump.
scared of it!!!!!!
