I have recently inherited a TO30 that the lift arms were not functioning. I corrected that but now have erratic lifting and dropping. I have since pulled the pump out, cleaned all of the valves, but the oscillator drive slides out through a hole in the front of the pump and i do not know if there is supposed to be a plug or something to retain it or not. if someone could tell me or send me a picture of the front face of the pump i would really appreciate it. My IT manual doesnt show a good picture and I am lost.

There have been a few exploded pics posted on here of the TO-30 control valve with the oscillator. Usually if the lift works ok but the lift arms get stuck up or get stuck down then the control valve is sticking. Could be caused by dirty hydraulic oil or the control valve itself. The outside of the control valve originally had an almost mirror finish to it. If it gets the slightest pitting on the outside of it from moisture in the hydraulic oil over the years, the control valve will stick and needs to be replaced. You can not buy the TO-30 control valve anymore but you can get the TO-20 control valve and install it and it will work fine.

No it does not, but it"s not needed. That was something they tried that supposedly kept the control valve from sticking but as long as you have clean hydraulic fluid in your tractor you won"t have any problems with the TO-20 style control valve sticking. All the TE-20"s, TO-20"s, and all the Ford N series tractors used the TO-20 style control valve.

Hi: I"m having the same issue with the oscillator being connected to the control valve. Did you solve your problem? I"m not sure how to proceed with mine.
