HF Grain Drill

Anyone know if Ferguson built a grain drill. I think I've seen a picture of one for sale. Tony-Mass and I were taking about all implements that were made and we weren't sure about a Grain Drill. I would like a book on all implements if they ever printed one.

According to a report in 1946 Harry Ferguson Inc. did indeed have a grain drill in the implement line up. It was built by Dempster Mill Manufacturing Company in Nebraska.

Yes the Ferguson grain drill was very popular over here and very accurate. you lifted the linkage at the ends to disengage the drive cogs and raise the coulters out of the ground.
John Farnworths book 'Ferguson Implements and accessories' is a good reference tool, even though it is the British version it does cover some US built implements.
I actually gave Tony the seed drills he cut up.... Should have sent them your way!!!!

I have the Dempster drill made for Ferguson. I hope to bring it to the Expo next year in LaGrange, IN as many people have not seen one. I also hope to bring my heavy duty reversible bog harrow, another rare piece. Is it August 2014 yet?

In my: The Ferguson Album by Allan Condie it shows 2 drills. 1 it says was designed and built
by Lundells. The other is a model G-PE.A20 but
doesn't say who built it. Sounds like a Ferguson
model no. tho. Chuck

Sam Did you notice in the picture the front axle on tractor is adjusted out and used as a guide. I've used a 2x2 on front of grill guard when we went to 4 rows that had a chain that you run in last furrow as a guide. This worked good when you were bedding in the fall.

Hi, I have the book from Colin E.Booth & Allan T
Condie, The New Ferguson Album. I believe that is
a very complete book, shows much I have never
seen. I have 2 so can part with 1. 96 pg near new
tons of photos all B & W. $15 plus $4 postage.
Chuck

I know I have seen them and think I have an owners manual for one around here someplace.
