As some of you may remember my saga of the 87mm dropping oil pressure and me running it with vinegar in thr radiator and even dish washer detergant in hopes of allowing the coolant to reach all internal parts and thereby helping the oil pressure problem since replacing the mains and the oil pump guts didn't help. Well today I pulled the head and the brass runner that goes thru the head. There were a lot of water ports clogged into the head and the block.Going to send the head off for a hot tanking and I'm wondering if theres something I could do to the block to clean all the ports without having to split it to hot tank?

Forgot the pics, looks like it was also running lean judging by the valve colors.

2 Tractors, Hello, I just had my z134 all apart, but I have never seen that engine. So I have little to offer. I did work on a 35 at a dealer friend of mine some years back with an oil pressure problem they couldn"t find. To make a long story short, I dropped the pan, put a long drain pan under it and pressurized the oil system with oil under pressure. It came out of the rod and mains like normal but was pouring out from the front cover area, I pulled the front cover and a oil pressure fed idler had come loose on the front gear train. Tightened it up, put it back together- good oil pressure. I can"t remember but it may be the same engine you have. Anyway It"s a messy way to find a pressure leak, but it works- Hope this helps-ed

welp. that's what ya get for not putting enough paint on the gauges...
I have a profit-see... which is opposite a deficit-cee... nothing you are doing to cool it off will help this .. pressure thing... if it really is a problem right? How bloody hot would it have to get to thin oil to an unsafe temp? Couple hundred degrees? How @#$%^&* is it down there in Georgia?? it was 99 here today...so maybe eh? If it isn't dodgey gauges, dodgey crudded up internal lines, a worn out previously messed with rear main or pump... Since you are stripped down again, so might as well stick 100 psi air chuck in all the oil passages and lines you can see- is there such a thing as a oil pressure test gauge? A truly accurate one? holy cow... just get some grey Rustoleum spray paint....

No dodgey guages this time, I invested in an infared gauge and after finishing mowing the last time the temp gauge was in the green and the infared hit 414f hence the need to check head for warpage. The clogged water ports wouldn't let water to the sensor.Ed,while troubleshooting the prv I collapsed the spring since its adjustable on these models and found the only thing 80 plus lbs did to the engine was spring the oil gauge which gave 40 lbs. switched off, having it holding about 60 running making me think I had blown out the problem.I should post a pic of the mains I changed out that looked as good as new and plastigauged out good also. Thanks yall

2 tractor, Water boils at I think 212 , you better check your inferred ,if it was 400 you would have steam blowing out the rad. lol-ed
