anyone ever use an electric power washer to clean up a tractor and if you have how would you rate it ?

in the next week or two I am going to try to get to wenger's and take pics of their TO-35. anyone have any specific areas of the tractor they would like photographed ? hopefully wengers will give me permission to take pics of their machine.

I have a gas power washer 3500 PSI and use it a lot. Rebuild tractors get a cleaning before going in shop.It will remove paint if your close with the green nozzle. It's great cleaning mud off dozer tracks.(If it ever rains again)

I was over there last week and let my children see that bit of history in Wengers....Nice thing was the boss remembered me and even my name from my last visit there about 3 years ago! They don't mind you taking pics as long as you buy some parts....! LOL

Had an electrig for probably 30 years bought used. Think it probably is a 750# machine, possibly up to 1,500#, not over and it has plenty of power for anything I ever needed. I would not own one of these 3,500# machines, can do way too much dammage to you or what you are trying to wash.

Hello, I thought you might like some pic"s of a 35 working. I thinks that"s when they are happy, A little dusty, pushing dirt and growling. That"s a sad little fergy setting in that show room smelling of car wax. Mine is a 55 green belly, 58 yrs. old and still working. My neighbor is a contractor and he"s bringing me in mega tons of top soil he has to get off a job site and i"m spreading it all with the 35. cheers-ed

I have a small leaking electric, it runs anytime and I do not have to pull on a rope. I have a large 220V pump and motor I salvaged from a steam unit, that will be the next one.

Ed, looks like you've got a pretty versatile setup there, pretty much do anything you want. And sounds like you've got a great neighbor there.........good that you can "help him out" with his problem of what to do with mega tons of topsoil! Wish I had a neighbor with that problem.

Inno, HI!, I"m a heavy truck mechanic, He has a lot of trucks, big dozers etc. My son worked for him all through high school operating and working on his equipment ,need I say more. He"s just paying up favors. Good friends come in handy.
As for old Harry, I restored all those attachments from junk as a hobby. The Loader bunt in a barn fire on a 8n, The backhoe was in the scrap pile behind a dealer to far gone to sell.
It"s a nice hobby, and the tractor sure comes in handy- ed

but that "sad little fergy" is a great source of historical ferguson 35 info if you need/want it.

I have used a small electric 1500 psi powerwash. Works okay but not super. But works much better on heavy grease/grime if you scrape the thick stuff off first and spray with engine cleaner, and/or oven cleaner, let sit, then powerwash. Keep the powwerwash stream away from the base of the shifter, base of the top link yoke to prevent getting water into the transmission.

Hello, That is true, That little tractor was the forerunner of the modern tractors of today. Can you imagine a farmer or contractor having a tractor like that in 1955. That tractor was ahead of it's time and I take my hat off to Harry Ferguson as he built one heck of a tractor and I assure you I don't take it lightly.
That is why I located and restored the loader and backhoe from the same era , They too are steeped in history. That loader is the same as the very first patented hyd. loader, The backhoe is a 1954 Sherman power digger made by wayneroy of Michigan. They designed and patented the concept of the backhoe as we know it today. The Gannon earthcavator (box scrapper) in the pic was invented by Roy C. Gannon in the same era. And all 3 evolved into major corporations still alive today. I take very good care of all of it as they are indeed a great part of history-ed
