Front Wheel Bearing Seals...

Seals have a metal side and a rubber side - which side goes toward the bearing?

I didn't notice when I removed them

, and I've also learned never to assume things were installed right the first time, either.

Rubber towards the bearing. Most seals drive flush with outside hub housing.

Front hub seals were meant to keep the dirt out. Not meant to keep the grease in. So, you could get some bearing buddies and pump in grease on the front and push dirt out the rear. Longer bearing life.

Sorry for dredging up an old thread here, but: should the seal be a tight fit in the hub?
