I am hoping you all can give me some insight on a newly purchased tractor. the serial number tag shows TE 59 thousand something (I can"t recall the exact number) tractor data.com says the TE was only made till 48,000 ser number. can anyone tell me what model and year this tractor is? also can a ford Sherman trans be modified to fit into it? if not where can I find a Sherman to fit it?
thank you all in advance

1948. Both the TE20 and TEA20 were produced concurrently and the odd TE20 turns up to somewhere around Ser No 70xxx.

I think. :D

Yes there are TE-20 tractors above 48,000. There are several in the 98,000 SN range.

To verify a Ferguson TE-20 vs. TEA.20 look at the motor. is it a contential or a standard?

It is a 1948 year model.

Yes a sherman transmission will fit in there like anyother Ford/Ferguson.

thanks for the info. I forgot to mention that it don't have the engine. I plan on a "homemade repower kit" is there any where I can find a hi/lo Sherman for it?
