Would like to attend, but not sure I could get time off work. If I can, would they allow unrestored tractors or equipment? Could bring the 23C 35, just has very little paint! What do you guys think?

Oh yes, when these shows are held they don't care what shape they are in. Everyone knows they were in pristine condition when they left the factory but if they aren't in same condition now the spectators enjoy seeing what they look like after years of use and knowing they are still able to run and be worked. There are usually all stages of history at these shows not just the trailer queens.

I like the unrestored tractors at shows. I appreciate a nice restoration but I find I spend more time checking out an unrestored working machine. Bring it along!

I collected Hitt & Miss engines for years. I had a couple that had some radical fix it repairs that were done many years ago. I wouldn't restore those because -to me they tell a story of American ingenuity (called to day "get-er-dun"),this is part of the history we need to preserve. I have a 1934 cement mixer here is a U TUBE link -there are more videos of it running. We have been using it a lot the last 3 years. I just keep it running (not well enough to do the labor

Any way it is just as I got it 30 years ago -it was still in use by an oldtimer .Sometime in its life the cyl head was changed with a head from a later model (by the same manufacturer) engine. Now it has 2 spark plugs because of a style change. I will not look for the corret head as this is part of its history. I believe we are saving history.I clean it and show ,or use it just as it is. Some stuff I think restoring is good for -some not. My two bits.

Thanks for the support. May take it after all if I can get off work. Have taken it to the Rockville Tractor Bridge tour as is at least three times. Get teased about the red pickup aluminum top I have on it for shade, but I like oddball stuff anyway. Still have a few leaks to fix before it will be fit to paint! And the engine really runs nice, Tony!

I do have 2 Massey-Harris gas engines I play with too, a 1 1/2 and 6 horse, both type 2, and a Cushman 3 horse, a Maytag twin and a 1928 Maytag single on a working washer. None are restored. Like to do boiled eggs in the Cushman and do hotdogs in the smaller MH. Have some diesels too, but not set up on a cart yet. Yes Tony, I do have some gas engines, but prefer diesels!

You see, when the seller put the mower on my trailer, he said 'oh this load isn't balanced on the axles very well, so I will put some scarp iron weight up front to cure it.' When I got home I stopped on the bridge and threw the junk in the river. Was that a good idea or what?

Yes a joke, I may be crazy but I'm not dumb... or something like that.... the seller had showed me these engines last week and wanted to make a deal with someone, so, not letting the cat out of the bag, I had a neighbor who's been wanting a hit or miss for decades, can't ever afford a good one, so I told him to come help me load the mower. We didn't need help with the mower, but he got these for a bill each. Now as soon as this mower can fit a fergie - all 3 of us will be happy campers....
