TO30 Wouldn't start

I tried to start my TO30 yesterday. I slid the shifter to the start position, it clicked, then silence. Battery dead? I'd used it recently, but maybe. Put the charger on it. It said it was already charged. I'll skip some of my wasted troubleshooting, but then I jumped the starter directly and it started perfectly. OK, switch is bad. But I got my handy little tester out and fiddled around. No, the switch seemed good. All that seemed wrong was a poor connection between the switch and the cable to the starter. Pulled it off, did a little wire brushing, put it back together. It started perfectly.

No real point to this except to remember to check the little things first.

I like to put a little dielectric grease on places like that. It does
seem to help keep the connections from corroding a little
better.

It might come and go and usually its the connection inside the starter is loose due to overtightening the top nut without holding the bottom one which breaks the joint inside.
