Power Steering Update

To Dan and all with any interest, the pump that came with my ps sector is a Barnes and has MF on the tag. The 56 came with ps but had a different pump, the one that allows you to fill by removing the top so there were no issues with swapping the straight gear and using the spiral. After looking on ebay I see that the Cessna and the Barnes look very much alike but the other one with top mount cost a bundle. I got the leak stopped and ps seems to work just fine.

Thanks for the update, I'm amazed that the canister style pumps fit. How does the power steering feel? Is it 'finger tip' light steering or more like power assist?

Havn't had the loader on and with the heavy 6' scraper on the back it felt like little finger. I'm guessing this pump came off a left hand mount as the hoses are coming off the left, just peculiar that the fill hole was not at 12 oclock??

Never mind the filler at 12 noon, I am pleasantly surprised you got this to work at all! Just thought of it this morning, but wasn't it Inno who installed a 'priority valve' on the loader pump? With our luck, one probably costs more than an original ps pump....

Was getting that fill plug to the top just an easy rotation of the canister ? I replaced my old Barnes pump with another used one and it was not cheap , so i'm looking for a better cheaper way to adapt a newer pump on .
Does it have 3 bolts holding it on like the old Barnes one do , so all i have to do is change the gear and rotate the fill plug to the top ?
