FINALLY I got to put some time in my TO-30,been sitting since I got it. Wen it was first started when it was bought from an estate auction it didn't smoke any blue at all ( a good thing). then it sat till yesterday and still didn't skoke except for a little black "rich" smoke from a cold start. It sounds so smooth (hasn'teven had a tune up)I love the sound. Now to put a PTO seal in and overhaul the carb, install an electric fuel shut off, change oil, Plugs points & wires. I can hook up one of my bush hogs where it will spend most of its time. Side note I have never seen a snake here in 15 years -but last week a guy I hired to help build a fence got bit by a copper-head.Day B4 yesterday another bite. My mowing has been neglected and there is a brush pile (gonna burn it in the next rain) closer than I would like it.150 ft. So the Fergy's first job is to do bush hoging a year later then it should be. (I haven't been feeling well) Fortunatley both bites were not serious. So the mowing is a priority. Now I need a starter switch -to replace the solenoid conversion (the original switch has the top half completely missing). It seems to steer hard (gonna lub and check it out as best I can till I get used to its quirks. I also would like an original style seat spring ( the suspension one holds me too close to the wheel and pedals. Later I will put a high back for when I am working with it. Nope its not going to be a prema Donna. Would any one have these 2 items for sale or maybe even a trade of some nature. The closer to Oklahoma the better.

I wonder how hard it will be to adjust to having to have the clutch out to lift the 3PT hitch. My Case and Kubota have full time hydraulics. Just gotta do it LOL. We plan on repainting it and playing with it some - hay rids for the grandkids - maybe parades - tractor rides with groups -and hopefully the Pawnee Ok show next May.

I am looking forward to enjoying it more than working it though.

You can also get the metal pan seat from a Ford N series. Lots of those out there. Early 9N's did not have a flip seat and the later N's did. I got one off of an 8N to put on my TO-20 because when I got mine it had an aftermarket padded pan seat on it and I didn't like it so I swapped it.

I just took a seat off my MF30 that came out of a 80's Oldsmobile, but that might sit too high for you too. It reclines and has nice tan upholstery.... The biggest job of the pto seal is preventing making a big mess with the oil.
Seriously... it was your hired man? or you that got bit? I would take care of that wound before worrying about tractor stuff. BTW, once you put a hog in the back, it will steer a bit better, just from the balance. I really don't care for snakes.... my mother killed everyone she ever met in her life. Usually with a sharp shovel...

I have the metal pan seat on the type suspension mount pictured. I want to get the U shaped spring for the original mount. See picture. In the future I will mount a forklift style seat ( I have them on my 2 other tractors ) on a self built mount. I just don't like the current seat at all.

It was my hired help 2 guys bit in 23 weeks. Gonna have a snake breakfast soon. They seem to be migrating towards the house lately. So I gotta clean the area immaculately. he is fine wants to help tomorrow. The wound looks good -swelling almost all gone- color normal & no pain. Getting a 410 pistol to carry with us - gota get rid of the problem fast. We did a lot of construction around the yard -built 200 feet of French drains -made a new larger garden area ,so there has been some land changes that may be the cause of their new activity. And the brush pile can't be burned till we get wet weather (when ever that occurs). Copper heads aren't usually fatal and often a bite has no venom (they save the venom like it was precious - the babies haven't learned to control their venom so they are more dangerous when they bite. For now I gotta get rid of as many as possible.

Saw one run over as a kid and there were 26 little ones being carried in her mouth, killed one on golf course on a saturday and returned sunday to find someone had killed about 19 of the offspring.

Correction -I don't like the suspension style mount at all. It keeps me too far forward to feel in good control of the tractor.
