Pulling Power!

I have a TEF 20 built in 1951. It works well-ish but rapidly runs out of power when I'm pulling a "topper" and when going uphill. I have recently cleaned the entire fuel system and she (Fergie) is running well. I suspect anno domini?
Can anyone shed some light on her lack of pulling power?

Beinvenue, coma sa va? OK, my grandparents spoke the worst Quebecois and Acadian in the world, so I will stop.
Is this a diesel? Timing in the injector pump? Dirty injector nozzles?
Petrol/gasoline? If you fuel system is good, you are down to electrical or the governor. The ignition points might be burned, closing or opening, the governor spring could be weak, broken -or just fell off it's hook, and the timing might need to be advanced. None of these problems cost much money. You may be lucky. bonchance, abeinto!!!
