TO 30 issues

One of our 2 TO 30s will run well for about 20 minutes, then start missing and eventually it will die. It has plenty of gas flow to carb. i pulled the carb an cleaned it. It looked spotless. Put it back together and it does the same thing runs great then starts to miss and eventually dies.I pulled plugs and they all look fine. what else do i need to check.

As soon as it starts to die quickly check for a good spark(FAT AND BLUISH-WHITE, the color of lightning).
If the spark is weak,(spindly reddish blue, blue, or yellowish)I"d suspect you have 6V coil without a ballast resistor to limit the primary current to ~4 amps max. Check the primary resistance. If it"s ~1.6 ohms than it"s a 6V coil and if you can"t find a resisitor in series in the primary ignition circuit, you need to add one or get a real 12V coil(~ 3.2ohms).

thanks jerrry I am pretty certain i have a 12 volt coil I will check today and see. What about points or condensor? could they do this

Generally points are not temp effected. Condenser 8might* be. Coil is more suspect to be a heat failure mechanism.

As Bruce says the condensor is a possibility. They either work or they don"t and you"ll see some burning or pitting of the points if the condensor is at failed. Another possibility is a bad key switch. If you find a weak spark, put a jumper around the key switch and see if that clears the problem.
Check the spark and report back. If the spark is OK then a restriction in fuel delivery could be the problem. There"s a screen in the fuel inlet elbow of the carb that can partially clog and give similar symptms as acan a clogged fuel vent in the fel cap or a restricted tank outlet.

Check the spark and if that"s fine then look to the fuel.
