Ferguson planter sword

I know the older ferguson implements behind the tractors are a big hit at the show. I picked up a couple of NOS ferguson planter swords and would like to know what model they would fit. The numbers on them are 688 299 M91. These would would be great for a planter used at a show or to upgrade your worn swords.

I have never heard that name before, would you please tell me what a sword is and on which type of planter would this be on? Thank you. Richard

Since I placed this post I have found out that the swords, they are the piece that opens up the furrow for the seed on the runner assembly, are for the #21 drill planter D-PO-A-20. Here is a photo.

Did'nt the early rear row crop cultivator have a knife type of thing to stabilize the unit from moving around while cultivating?

Ken, there was a cultivator that had a disc in the middle front that would keep it from moving around much. I do not know if that was a early or later model. I do not know about a knife on the cultivator.

Yes corn planter. I think these swords when on in front of the main planter runners for use with the fertilizer boxes.
