Identifying old tractor

I have an old tractor sitting under a redwood tree in Mendocino County, California. I'm trying to ascertain the year and model with the hopes of getting it running. the tag on the dash is very hard to read but we did get a number 144430 off of it. The transmission casing has HF 180-402-MI on it. Further forward on the casing is G.21,5. It is a 6 volt Positive ground system and it was painted red. I don't know if it came from the factory painted red, but now know to look.

Wow, redwoods!! haven't seen one of those in quite awhile, how about a pic of it driving thru one, probably a t030, just a guess since its red.

G.21.5 It was built July 21 1955. Look on left side engine close to front, there is a tag should be number---Z120orZ134.This will help and also a picture of tractor.

Going by the serial numbers on this site it looks like it is a 1955 TO-35 that someone repainted red to look like a MF35.

Can't be TO 30 as 140000 was highest TO 30 S/N. You did not mention but it does have two gear shifters doesn't it?

Yes it dos have two shifters. A photo is attached.

Definitely a TO-35, Z134 continental engine, a very popular and well liked tractor, no power steering on that one....that's about as much as I can tell from looking at the pics on the little screen of my Blackberry. Nice find!

Marty, My brothers and I own a '55 TO-35 that our Dad bought new in April, 1955, for $1975.00 and a 3 bottom plow for $300.00. Our tractor was built just 46 units after yours. My advice: don't spare any repairs to make it right. It will outlast us all.

Thank you all for your help identifying this old tractor. I have restored a few Model A Fords, and this looks like it might be a lot of fun. I just may have to restore it as well. Depends on what the owners want to do. Some just want to get rid of it, some want it to rust out under the Redwoods because it's quaint. I want it to run.
The hydraulic pistons are rusty and the seals will have to be replaced. Any ideas on where to get them re-done?
