What size are the front tires? I'm starting a 56--TO-35 and the tires on it are 6.50-16(New).They should be 6.00 but your's look like they may be larger. It look's good.Just hate to buy smaller when they are new plus the price.

looks great, you did a good job.

if you are going to use it much I would get a chin guard for it.

this is a picture of my 1957 to-35, this is the style front bumper it had in 1957, I guess yours would have had the same type front bumper.

yes, I painted it red as all the neighbors thought it was some type old case tractor painted cream color.

I might paint it back cream someday, who knows, that would be a lot of work.

Thanks for the compliments. As anyone who has done this would know, it is a lot of work. The front tires are 6:00X16. These are Alliance brand. Different brands are different widths it seems. I have 12.4X28 Alliance brand rears and they seem to be much narrower than the 12.4's on my F 40. Although the rims on the 40 may be an inch wider. They are All Crop brand. I can't afford the big name brands!

you might be right on the bumper.
our next door neighbor bought the tractor new in 1957, we bought it in 1960 from him and have had it ever since.

so the bumper was not changed by my father or me.

The Ferguson dealer could have had these front bumpers and just installed them until he ran out.

The owners manual we received with the tractor is for a 1956 model (early) as it shows the tractor plowing on the front cover, painted cream and green.

That was the (early 1956 color scheme) as I have been told.

The tractor on the front cover does not have a front bumper either.

Guess no one liked front bumpers or ever planned to back a 4 wheel wagon.

ford 9N, 2N and 8N did not have A FRONT HOOD THAT COULD TILT FORWARd as the TO model fergusons do. putting a front bumper on a TO negates that feature.

Nice job, I got one just like it, but no great pains with paint, but works fine. I wouldn't worry about bumpers. the grills and chins are now over 2 bills, so anything- even wrong- to protect it is Ok in my book. I doubt many bumpers were Ford/ MF... just Sears or Montgomery Wards like everything else in those years...
