I picked those used front rims up earlier today and they had some rust on them so I wired wheeled them, coated them with phosphoric acid, washed them, sanded them, primed them and painted them with your favorite shade of Rustoleum Tony. Smoke Gray. I just did that to keep them from rusting anymore for now. Then I took a pic comparing the Rustoleum Smoke Gray to some BASF Ferguson Battleship gray I had mixed. From what I see actual Ferguson gray has a little more blue in it and is a little lighter....but I don't think the average person would ever know the difference.

Soooooo.... which one is Rustoleum? which is fergie grey? The one on the left huh?
Hey by the end of a long hot sunny summer, it's even closer to original.... whenever I run across original paint, it looks almost white. Got to be faded, in the pics of the Bannerlane factory in the UK mag, they look really dark on the assembly line.. even darker than our smoke

The rustoleum is on the rims. The Ferguson gray is on the cross bar in the pic. That"s the bar from one of the Ferguson sickle mowers I"m restoring. Most of the Fergusons I have been around that are still wearing some of their original paint the paint has taken a blueish tint as its aged and faded.
