Junkyard find

2tractors

Maybe Tooonee would be best to answer this. I spotted a deisel 35 in the junkyard and it has 3 cylinders and SIM (I think) as I didn't bring glasses. If I ever get the donor gas 35 with single stage fixed, if the price is right I could do like Tony and swap rear ends. Are the deisel and gas back halfs interchangeable?

If you are going to the trouble to switch the rear-end, replace it with one that has a differential lock!
It will be twice the tractor!

After looking in the archives it seems the only 35 that came with the DL would be and FE35 and I dought it would swap out.

Hum... kinda like down under engineering....yee... nay bloody worries mate, she'll be right...perhaps in the end...
I really doubt what you found is an FE, more likely a +1961 MF 35 with the Perkins 3 replacing the Std 4. Like mine still had 'TO35' on the tag...
The Z134 you already have.... WILL bolt up to the 'arsend' of this dead diesel... but... like when I put the 202 engine on my 23C diesel's 'arsend'... the flywheels were different. Clutchpack, bolt pattern the same- oh! maybe a bit of different tin work under the battery to screw you up, but they all interchange......except the flywheels might not. I got the one I needed from VT parts on here...
hate to ask... but's what's wrong with the diesel?

Ah probaby just got stuck in reverse and these good ol boys just butchered it up from there, wishful thinking huh! I'll take you a pic of it as I spotted a sears mower deck with good bolsters for 45 bucks and they cost 38 apiece new. Pretty good sheet metal thou.
