Front gas tank bracket/throttle/ governor broken

I have yet to look in the book. But tonight I removed the gas tank to retighten the new manifold nuts. I noticed to my dismay that a bracket which holds the front side of gas tank and what I guess is the end of the governor rod is broken in the middle right up against where the upper radiator hose connects. Whoever had it before me merely put a bar of steel across the gas tank flange an bolted through it like a large washer. Any ideas how to fix this mess? It appears to be cast metal. My first thought is to clean it up real well do some filing the JB weld the broken spot and reinforce on top of the bracket with 1/4" steel bar jb welded to original bracket with predrilled holes for gas tank bolts. Would this part even be available anywhere?

Those are plentiful used but if you wanted to fix yours I don"t know if JB weld would hold it or not, but it could be brazed back together and would hold better than JB weld.

When looking at it I can't for the life of me figure out why it is even broken or even how. The bracket doesn't seem to carry much weight and it is evenly distributed across the whole bracket and the rod in the end hole does nothing but rotate. I will look at it better tonight if I have time and then decide but I think if I reinforce it with a 1/4" steel bar JB welded from one side to the other as well as JB weld the actual crack it should hold. It will definitely be better than jus one gas tank mounting bolt holding it in position.

I have seen several of them on eBay but when I said they were plentiful I was saying that because that piece isn't exclusive to one model of tractor like some of the parts are. TO20's,TE20's, and TO30's all used the same piece so there are a lot more of them out there to choose from.
