Corn Head Grease in TO-30 Steering

If you have the steering gearbox off the tractor and are thinking of changing over to cornhead grease that's the time to do it. Took me only a couple of minutes to add 5 tubes of grease to the gearbox. The paper tubes empty out amazingly well just by squeezing them. Sure beats pumping the grease in through the fill plug.

When I filled mine I put four of the thicker corn head grease and two of the thinner as I wanted to make sure it did not just make a void inside when the weather got colder and nothing got greased as it should.

that corn head grease is great lube material.

use it in any old gearbox that is leaking, most times it will stay in box and keep it lubed for many years.

after talking with some local tractor guru's I became a fan of using hi-temp wheel bearing grease. not as dear as CH grease.
