The numbers on the top of Piston No. 3 are oriented in a different direction that the others:

Does that mean that something's wrong now, or was assembled wrong?

And, one of the push rods is bent - I think it will show in this photo:

Does it need to be replaced? Can you just buy one, or do you replace them all?

David, this shot is after I cleaned the pistons- are you referring to my other pictures that I posted when I pulled the head, and the tops of the pistons were pretty cruddy?

yes, with a good seal on rings all pistons should look like #3.
