TO-35 pwr steering

one of the hoses is leaking at the steering column. when I replace the hose will I have to "bleed" the system or will filling up the pump take care of business?

how do I determine which hose is pressure and which is return?

forgot:
the hose leading to the upper connection at the pump is the leaking one.

When I put my 35 steering back together all I did was jack the front wheels off the ground and with the engine running turned the wheel full left and right a few times and then rechecked the oil level in the pump to top it off.
