Has anybody change gas tank off a to20 with one off another model with a sender unit . Just trying to figure out a way to have a gas gauge plus need to replace tank so trying to see what might fit back in place of old tank

Well...What you do is get a generic sending unit from flea bay and drill a hole and mount it.
they either come in 33 ohm units or 285 ohm units. Make sure the gauge fits the sending unit. You can find them both under "marine" category.
Where are you going to mount your gas gauge?

Having spent many thousands of hours on a to30, running out of fuel was never a problem. There is a 1 gallon reserve to be had by opening the fuel tank petcock full open. As I recall, the fuel valve tells you to open only 2 full turns for normal operation. I could be wrong, but this is my memory from 40 years ago. That Ferguson was the most reliable tractor on the farm. It would start without fail on the coldest of upstate NY winters.

Thanks for the replies, i just got this tractor and it was running real good i ran it out of gas and it didnt even act like it was getting low just shut down after refilling it suck rust in lines made float stick . Took tank off and seen baffles broke loose inside . Washed tank ,cleaned float and it still sucking stuff through . Im going to buy a new tank and i was going to see if they was one out there that had a hole for a sending unit that would fit . That way never run it out again .

Because of the location of the gas pick up , you can run out of gas while backing up a steep hill when you actually have almost 1/4 tank .
I make sure that I have plenty of gas in the tank when I am working on a hill .
Mine is a TO30 .
