This was the closest thing to a fergie at the whole show I was at last weekend...and yes, it is a Dorf, and yes that is a flathead V8.
The only thing I bought besides overpriced food... was a Canadian National Railways brakeman's lantern.... with no globe.... things need to change around here....

Nice photos Sam, I was at the Stradset park rally in Norfolk for 2 days doing the ring commentry. I am booked up for most of the summer doing commentries. Are you in volved with the F.O.F.H.club in Northern Ireland? We have the Notts county show at Newark this weekend and I organise a display of root growing and harvesting through the ages in the main ring. Back at the computer on monday. MJ

I went to a local show last summer or the summer before that had ferguson as the featured tractor. three fergusons were there but it mostly green followed by red followed by orange and all the rest.
green also included olivers.

MJ...I am the FOFH co-ordinator for Norn Iron, I had to take our trade stand to the show, We were very busy. Still plenty of interest in restoring old Fergusons!

Thanks for taking the time to post all those.

What's the black thing on the right side of the transmission in one of the pictures?

Tony and Miner...you are driving the wrong direction, head for an airport with a ticket to Norn Iron! This was THE ONLY green tractor at the May day show!

And it has the gall to park next to a fine Harry Ferguson?? Ha. Should be sitting next to the chip stand. A nice flat surface to hold the salt and vinegar!
Did I tell you about my big score/only purchase at the 'tractor' show? Since I am still hemming and hawing over that Dearborn rollover.... Now this is real Thomas the Tank stuff....

That 'black thing' is someone's conversion/ drop box/ transfer case
for 4 wheel drive.

Sam, what kind of engine is that in the forward assist. Blimey, it's got a turbo on it!!!
And what do you do with those tires on the red Fergie? They look like they'd have a hard time getting traction, even in grass. Nice photos. The castle is fantastic.

Hi Mr Bill, this is a 3 times a year thing at 'Zagray's Farm Museum' in Colchester, Conn.
I like it, but every time I come away wishing there was more variety than alphabet big reds and cub cadet lawnmower parts... they have two interesting well done sawmills in operation... but I did want a 19 inch rim and a maybe a couple headlight cones... tons of 12 and 4 inch rims... the last time I bought quite a bit there was from people close to me that took stuff for 'our' brand... that I walked away from at their shop... I gave in and paid them at this show... I am thinking even tho a Farmall club puts on these 3 shows... we could rent the place for a fergie weekend now and then too? There looked to be enough room for a couple dozen more on display this show and last, but there was no one plowing, couldn't find anyone to talk to about it, so I'll just email the museum itself.
Sam doesn't see machines like this often, there are no trees or sandpits where he lives....

Tony - I would love to get you down here for our Pawnee,OK show. Lots of steam stuff - Big tractors and steam powered saw mill. A big stationary steam engine and a steam powered working machine shop. You can't see it all in one day -they transport yu in from the parking lots in jitneys pulled bu tractors. A lot of case stuff - I am a Case fan have 3 1 working and 2 parts - hoping to make 2 into one good one. I'm actually very new to Fergusons, but looking forward to playing with mine. I haven,t driven it but 1 time yet -too much else to do right now. Plus I need to remount the suspension seat further back -I am jammed up with my knees in my nose LOL. Goin to put a bushhog on it and leave it there, its difficult for me to hook and unhook 3pt stuff.(except for tractor rides and our local town parade) Gonna leave it to my grand children. I don't farm (disabled Nam vet) but try to keep busy doing projects. i have some red power friends in pepperell that might help you get some ideas on a plough day etc. Hopefully will see you later this summer. Oh the chard, beets, peas are up goin to have chard for dinner next week. Gotta get the tamaters and summer squash in later this week. But gotta get the chain link fence finished first (gotta keep my deer out of the garden). I keep a feeder for their enjoyment -I can see them from my recliner - we don't allow them to be hunted.
