Corn Head grease for your leaking steering box

I've heard of several people putting corn head grease in their leaking steering boxes on their TO and TE tractors. I will probably do the same thing myself. The advantage is it is thick enough so it won't leak out the sides of the steering box but it is still thin enough to lube everything inside the steering box. Most people I've heard of doing that we're getting their grease at JD dealerships. Agco has the same grease if you prefer to get it from them. It is an EP-0 grease.

EP-00 grease is also available at NAPA and other stores. It can be used as well. I believe some call it Snapper grease as that mower uses it.

I had looked here at TSC and Oreillys and a few other places and hadn"t been able to find any outside of a little squirt tube. Our Napa here ain"t the greatest, they never have the 90w mineral oil. I always have to go to TSC and get it.

I put JD corn head grease in the right angle gearbox
on the mower deck of my 1991 JD 430 G.T. that had
EP90 in it. So far, so good. If there was an easy
way to get ALL the 90 mineral oil out of the
steering box on my TO 20, I'd put it in there, too,
but at a small puddle a summer, I'll be dead before
it quits. LOL
