TO35 auction sale

Went to an auction today that had this TO35. Battery was dead so it was not started but engine was loose. Tires looked nice but where 13.6x24 so they would be a bit smaller than standard 24s. Half the clamps where missing on each back wheel. It did have a generator with tach drive. It sold for $1100. I would have liked to have the hood and some other parts but I don't need another whole 35 unless its cheap enough to just disassemble for parts.

Looks pretty decent but without being able to start it, I wouldn't pay that much for it. Mind you the tires look good and it's nice and straight.

Like Inno sez, those tires look like a few bills right there. I am at the point nothing scares me about these things. Everything's fixable.... what surprises me- besides you not having the winning bid... is that ANYONE in Clinton county had 1100 bucks on him.... no one I am related to there has that much all at one time...

This was at the annual auction at Fournier's Equipment in Swanton, VT. There was a pretty big crowd. On top of the $1100 there was a 10% buyers fee and then 6% sales tax so you end up being closer to 1300 by the time you're done. Not a bad price at all if the bidders had looked at it during the prior week and got it running and it checked out, but I hadn't done that. I can buy a lot of parts for the 35s I already have for $1300.

Vermont? That's why people had 1100 bucks! Was that the place on the road to Rouses Point? Between the town and the swamps? I think when I was a kid they sold AC's. I forgot. haven't been on that road in 10 years or more. Yeah, 13 is a lot for a pig in a poke unless you are parting it out. Looks in good shape tho. too bad...
So how much did the Standard diesels go for???

My business partner Dick was at the auction he bid on this tractor to $1200.00 and it sold for $1400.00. I wasn't at this sale I was in NH at the R.N. Johnson sale.

Yeah, that's where it is. I hadn't been to their auction in several years but saw the 35 on their web page and thought I'd check it out. I didn't see any Standard diesels. The online picture didn't show the engine so I was actually wondering if it would turn out to be a standard diesel and what kind of money that would bring.

I didn't hear that it went that high. I was about 10 feet away from it during bidding but the auctioneers truck stayed over on the next isle which made it a bit hard to hear sometimes what he was calling out. I asked a friend of mine that was there with me and he thought it ended at $1100 as well. Must have been some quiet final back and forth with the flag guy if it went up to 1400. The auctioneer messed up the bidding on the AC next to it at one point too. They really should have pulled the truck around closer to what was being bid. I wasn't to impressed.

I was told that old WD 45 with the household light switch as an on off went for $1100.00. That took me by surprise, there wasn't anything original about it.
