Ferguson Spanner EN18

Hi,
I have a little collection of Ferguson Wrenches.
Some are stamped in inches of one side and cm on other side. On the "English" side is most stamped EN18.
Could you me explain the signification of EN18?
Is it in relation with the size of the little End ( 18mm???) and is EN a standard?
Thanks for your answer;

Excuse my bad English...
Cordialement
JM

Jean-Marie,

It may indicate the type of steel used to make the wrench.

Your English is way better than my French!

Graham

Votre Anglais est excellent! :lol:

I do not know what the "EN" stands for but the last Ferguson spanners released were embossed EN19:

Bob I have that wrench I worked for an Agco dealer at the time I tried to get more than one but that was the only one left ,its never been out of the package .it was shiped to the USA to Batavia IL. from England not sure how many were produced.

This Australian site has much information on various forms of the Ferguson spanner and other tools . Sadly it does not explain the EN18 designation , but is very interesting.
Charles .
