Yeah, sounds like a '59 number. End of the line- for Harry F TO-35 tractors was a couple years earlier, end of Massey F brand 35's was the mid 60's. That's not a 4 cylinder diesel is it??? Got any pictures???

I'm sorry I miss understood your question- but that does lead to a bigger question don't it? TO 35 stopped at 188k, MF stopped at 197k? But I don't think the data we get here is as accurate as factory records, which someone on here might have... My 202 is hundreds earlier than the start of MHF 202 production... so I don't pay attention anymore. If you dad bought it in 1959, I will bet it was late in the year.

According to the chart on the FENA website, the last serial number for the TO-35 in 1959: Gas Deluxe - 203679; Gas Special - 203197; and Diesel - 203359.

Not quite 20 years ago, my nice old neighbor died, and his family offered me his one-owner TO-35 Deluxe for $1,500, which at the time, sounded like a fortune, so I passed. (I really didn't have a good place for it either, and I didn't want to keep it outside - he never did!)

That's my only story of the "one that got away", and I have often regretted not buying it.

After I asked, I remembered to check this:

and it answers when the last 59's where.

No, its a Gas: Dad hates Diesel with a passion-too hard and expensive to work on.

And I don't have pics yet and wont till May. I'm told its yellow in color presently (I'm guessing its just a repaint).

Now my question is it marked on the tag if its a Deluxe or Special? If not, how do you tell the difference?

Interesting, my 1959 TO-35 is painted yellow as well. I think it was used by the Ministry of Transportation here in Ontario which would explain the colours used. All yellow except the fenders which are black. It is also gas and has dual clutch. Mine had a loader when I got it but that has been removed. I would post some pics but I'm out of town on training for the week and I don't have any on this computer. There are old threads somewhere with pictures of it though. The serial number on mine is in the 19XXXX range.

That yellow paint is actually Beige and is the original color unless it"s construction safety yellow. My TO 35 was Beige from the factory too.
