After lunch at Oakham Treasures we travelled on down the M5 to Devon....snow had been forcast for Britain but all they got in the South of England was heavy rain...I took some photos of the floods from our bus....
Once in Devon we went to the local Ferguson Heritage co-ordinator's farm to see his collection of mainly Ferguson implements. His wife made all 50 of our crew a delicious tea with Devon cream cake and sandwiches yum-yum! My young lad really has fallen in love with combines since this trip....have to get him weaned off that idea!!!! The last pic is our presentation to Tim .....just a small token to show our appreciation!

Hummmmm. 'Devonshyre Dairies'.... love to have one of those 40 quarts cans in my collection....
ya know sam ol buddy ol pal... next time you come to the states...and you have room in your suitcase for an extra milk can or 2...hey! they wouldn't be '40 US quarts' would they?

The implement in the second to last pic is a sack lifter made for
Ferguson by a firm called Culverwells. You simply placed the full
212 lb sack on the platform and then raised the lift to raise it
enough to slide it over onto a lorry or trailer..... A sort of early
forklift...

Great photos Sam, The implements are as important as the tractors they are all part of the Ferguson system. I have a 1951 TED with a Ferguson mid mounted mower fitted. I am featuering Fergusons at Newark this year and hope to get a good selection of implements on the tractors. MJ

212 pounds? Was that what is called 'a hundred weight'?
I learned that the hard way, only needed one lesson to know what 'a hundred weight' really weighs... poor little innocent young yank I was....
