Can they rewind a 6V gen to 12V?? I think 12V is the way to go.....getting harder to find 6V bulbs and the prices they are asking for them now.
I was told on this forum they can be rewind to 12 volt. I'm going to check at an old shop that's local and has been rebuilding for a lot of years. I can buy a alternator, 12 volt, that has provisions for the mechanical tach drive but it's well over $200.00 . So if i can get the generator changed to 12 volt for about the same cost i will go that way, look more original then. This post was edited by 4on-the-floor at 17:39:23 04/08/13.
