Tisco Distributer on TO 30

When I bought a new distributor cap, rotor, and points, for my 54 TO30 I found out they were incorrect. Cap was not tall enough, rotor was wrong and points were one piece. I finally got the correct parts at my local NAPA store. They were for an 8N. The best I can tell I might have an after market distributor made by Tisco. Anyone else had the same experience. Tractor runs fine with this distributor.

A tisco kit? or the metal parts? Usually all Delco Remi, and a 'wrong one' with a shaft, probably came out of a different continental engine. What you are discribing is like my flathead 162 cont in my Cockshutt. Never swapped them around to see if the gears are the same, bet they are...

The TO30 was purchased at a farm sale. Supposed to have 500 hours on a rebuild. Suspect you are right about a swap out with a distributor from another Continental. Need to clean the distributor and see if it has a name plate.

Here is picture of Prestolite (Autolite)
dist in a Ford . This maybe what Tisco sold only it was for Continental but points and cap would interchange.
