Crankshaft installation

I am rebuilding a TO-30 and had to buy a new crank. The front pulley is extremely tight. I have a factory manual, but the pictures are very fuzzy. Can you tell me, or show me how to shim the crank, where to put the shims, and where does the felt spacer go?

I rebuilt a 20 and the only felt was the one that fits the front timing cover and the rear crank has rope seals, the thrust washers and shims may go in differently than the 20.

The shims are just suppose to go the way they came off if just a rebuild, since you have a new crankshaft- 'I think' you have to put them on as it needs them.
To begin with, I would just 'eyeball' how the new crank lines up with the old cam and oilpump gears... add whatever shims needed to do that job if nothing else.

Shimms control crank end play, wedge the crank forward so it is tight against thrust bearing. Then shim as needed to get the clearance you want at the front wear plate with it pushed tight against shimm pack. Add or remove shimms as needed and measure at front thrust spacer.
