watco2 02-10-2013 07:03:44 173.93.147.197 Report to Moderator	The middle main bearing cap is a floating cap and must be installed in a perticular way. First, make sure there is plenty of lube, I use stp oil treatment so if the oil takes a little longer on the first startup it will stay on the bearings, the cleats on the bearing should be on opposet side from one another. Just finger tight the bolts after you install the two end caps and torque them. To tighten the middle cap you must do it with small increaments. As you tighten the bolts do so in 1/4 turns back in forth between the bolts. This allows the cap to seat itself with a floating action. If you tighten one side too much before the other the cap will not seat properly. [Reply]   [No Email]
