TO 35 Housing

I need to repair lift arm pin on axle housing. Will not tighten and loose. I have a parts 40 that is good. Can I remove the bolts around inside housing and remove complete axle housing? Will brake rod just slide out? Just replace with parts tractor axle housing.
 
You have to tighten the lower lift arm pin from the inside. If you remove the left hand axle housing and then slide out the ring gear assembly you can get to the nut on both lower lift pins. If the tapered hole in the axle isn't wallowed out you should just be able to tighten it up. In the picture, the pin has been removed from the right side so you only see the hole it goes in.

The pin is not in axle housing? I think he pin is wallowed out from what I can tell, real loose. Thats why I want to just replace complete housing from parts tractor.
 
Have both tractors 6 bolt axles? out at the brake drum I mean.
You will have to check parts numbers...but yes the 40 axle should fit, but it may need reshimmed.

This was the last one I did. 3 day project for 3 dollar part...
If I remember right, the brakes and axles don't need to come off, take off tire and un-hook linkage yeah. on the right side anyway. Both the ones I did were on the right. Tractors less than a year appart. A bad worker, or batch of bad parts on the assembly line? OBTW, I double nutted them this time...

You will need check the axle clearance because it is adjusted by the shims in both axles working together. You will be taking the axle from one side of one tractor and putting it in another so there is no telling what kind of axle clearance you will end up with.

I have one off a TO30 if the 40 won't fit. I don't know if the TO30 will fit the 35 or not. Probably going to scrap the back half of that tractor come the spring.
