oil line--to-20

when i loosened my oil line from my oil gauge and started it up, it didnt gush out but came out slowly after i cranked it up with the line loose. nut i have oil coming out of the line, now, if i want to blow the line out, would i do it from the gauge end or take the other end loose ands clean that out? i havent found the other end yet. it's been cold. gonna warm up today and tomorrow so i will do it then. thanks guys

The gunk in there may not blow out, I'd take both ends off. the other is on right side near the bellhousing under the exhaust manifold. You should clean the brass adapter on the block and if needed you can replace the hard line with brake tubing from auto parts store.
 
i blowed the line out from the top. so far the pressure didnt drop like it was doing. it stayed right on 40. before it would drop. i hope that helped it. i couldnt get the bottom loose.. too cold. i will take it loose tomorrow. and clean out around the nipple that goes in the side. i will take it out too. im trying, but i aint no mechanic. if i turn the key on right i think im doing good. i have to clap my hands. lol. should i change oil? it's kinda black. but it has never used any oil either

how do you get the brass fitting out of the block? what type wrench or w/e
i cant find nothing that will fit it
 
No amount of soaking in petrol or blowing out with air would move the sludge in the oil sender pipe of my TEA20 . I did this instead , thread an old bicycle brake cable through the pipe , then fray the last inch or two of end that sticks out , once frayed pull slowly twisting it often as you pull the cable back out of the pipe . This scours the insides and removes so much gunk you will be surprised .
 
i dont have a bike cable or a bike. lol sorry, but if i dont get it fixed i will look in the dump for an old bike. thanks charles/

its in there at an angle and i cant even get the line started back in, so i need to take the fitting out somehow. and put a new one in. thanks

i worked on it yesterday for 3 1/2 hours. my hands hurt, my back hurts, my shoulders hurt, and im very disgusted to know i cant get a fitting loose. now my nerves are shot too

Just blow some air into the elbow.It's right angle is a good place for accumulation of gunk and besides it's easy to warp the brass without something screwed into the hole.
 
well i give up, i got a mechanic coming up sometimes today and he says they will get it out. im gonna watch and see how he does it because i have tried everything that i know, course i dont know much evidently. lol i will put a new one in if needed. thanks a lot

Hum, just telling this on 2 tractor's post above- since you have the line open, take a squirt can and 'prime' the little line the best you can...start the tractor- if it was airbound, you'll know... don't get sprayed in the eyes!
 
got it off. i went and bought 2 more. now i cant get it to tighten all the way around to put the line back on. in batting a 1 .000 the wrong way. the mechanic said he would come back on put it on for me.i put it on and it poured oil out the side. not tight nuff. i did it again and it leaked again, im gonna let him fix it. lol i give up. everytime i go to fix something i mess it up worse than what it was.

the mechanic is a great friend of mine. he didnt charge me a thing, and i appreciate it. yep i called in help because i couldnt fix it. lol

well got it back together and it lealks oil bad. found out it was the flare on end of line that was bad. geez. what luck i have. then my carburetor flooded while sitting there and wouldnt start. i left the gas on while waiting for the mechanic to get here. gonna put another line on today and see what happens. will let y'all know what happens. lol
