I was able to hear and feel the governor respond today !!!!! This is the first time since I bought the tractor last july. I did'nt know tractors had this, I was using the tractor and just kept the Rpm's real high and most of the time ended up lugging the engine or stalling it. I used JOHN from the UK's methhood and had to do it three times but it worked. So THANKYOU JOHN and everyone on the forum for your great knowledge and patience answering the same questions over and over again!! :D :D :D Now am looking foward to plowing,roto-tilling, mowing and using the front-end loader with out the tractor dying ,It shows how well-built these classic machines are. Let it snow snow snow thanks matt p

That's awesome!! It's a whole new world once you get the governor working. My 202 was the same when I got it. Actually I was testing it for a week or so and digging a water line in to our barn with the backhoe. I was getting sick of revving the heck out of it and having it stall or strain so I started looking around for answers. That is what lead me to this site. That was 3 and a half years ago. It was John (UK) who helped me out and sent me instructions. Within a half an hour or so of adjusting and removing the unnecessary springs the previous owner had put in place it was digging like crazy. You will find it amazing what you can do with a tractor this size.
Did the carb come together well too? I'm guessing it did if your governor is working without it bogging down or dying.

Well good. Glad you appriciate it. Now, to show your appreciation... take the TransCanada to Thunder Bay, and help Inno split a tractor and do a clutch... so I don't have to.. it's -32 there.... don't forget your tools, better bring the dog for company... that's a long drive....
I'll be there in spirit. What did Red Green say? 'wer all in this together, I'll be rootin' fer ya.'

Inno I cleaned the carb really well then just put it back together the float was way out of wack and not a gasket to be had, so I built a few and put a few O'rings in. I'm going to the States in feb so I will pick up a proper kit then. it still stalls out under 500rpm, It could be a bit of timing and some fine tuning,But I can see the light at the end tunnel , at least as far as the engine rebuild goes. I think I know why the 202 doesn't need the compensating spring or the link, the foot throttle spring works as the compensating spring ,I took lots of time to get the whole throttle package set up really clean and tight ,I took apart every fitting and lubed the whole works .

Hum, there's been talk about the rpm's, seems some z's don't idle well less than your 500. I'm sure rather than spend anymore money, just keep tweaking things for awhile. I'm am glad that all went so well.

Tony I figure that I'm about 15 hours away from Inno , I would think you're about the same .We could meet, You bring the "Boston baked beans" I'll bring the Canadien rye wiskey ,we will tell all sorts of lies and get Inno's tractor running in weekend or so or so

matt

That's OK Matt, Inno is buying both of us all the Carling Black label we can drink... B&M beans are the best.
Oh atleast 15 hours for me. About 8 to Ottawa, how much more than that? Maybe I got to weld up a set of chains too... for the car...

Sounds good guys! I look forward to all the help. Don't go through Ottawa Tony, that'll add some time. Stay in the States all the way to Minnesota.......those darn great lakes get in the way, 'specially Michigan, what business does it have going that far south?
I'll get the pop/beer machine all topped up with Black Label.......hmmm, never thought of it before but BL is the same initials as my fav. beer.

BL? LaBatt spelled backwards?
On the bottom of Lake Michigan is an oddity of modern civilization. It is called 'Chicago'.... 4 or 5 hours to go from where you are, to where you can see you want to be...
Now one time I went over a really scarey bridge on the top of the state? was that the Soo? But old roads to anywhere from there.
Come the think of it... you live in exactly the middle of no where!!! Might be better if Matt can help you in person, I'll teleconfrence with yous guys....

Teleconference? Am I gonna need to go talk to the Canadian National Railway telegraph operator for that?
remove one bolt, stop
remove another bolt, stop
