I had same problem with 8N Ford. ORC was loose (worn in both ORC and PTO shaft). The loose ORC had worn down the internal threads on bearing holder so protective cap would not screw on.I replaced the bearing holder to cure the problem. |

| | That must be what happened with mine, Virgil. The current ORC fits fine, so it must have happened a while back. (I"ve only had the tractor for a few months, and I haven"t had the PTO hooked up to anything yet.) I have a little drip from the PTO shaft/seal, so I"ll be replacing the seal - I can put on a new cover/bearing holder "while I"m at it." Thanks, all. |
