The oil should be changed every 150 hours. Take a note how it all assembles, Jason has sent a picture for you to follow. Make sure that the "O" rings and felt seals are in good order, fit new ones if necessary, don't take any chances. It is a paper type filter with a wire mesh internally and the whole thing is in a perforated steel can. The filter should be an inside to outside filter or it will not clean the oil properly. It's just a paper cartridge style filter. If the filter housing comes out make sure you put it and the spring and stuff back in the right order or it will be pointless to have an oil filter, or the spring could be missing because sometimes people loose them and don't replace them.
