The Correct Thermostat for that engine is starting to open at 176 deg F/ fully open at 199 deg F and the lift of the valve is .34". Make sure that the Radiator Core or Matrix is clean and clear all over, wash it out from the Engine side towards the front. This may require doing a couple of times a day if it is very dry conditions. As there is only a couple of gallons of water in the system it needs to be as cool as you can get it when the weather is hot and Radiator blocking is the usual cause. This Engine is well on top of the job of driving a 5ft Bush-Hog so it will not usually overheat BUT you MUST keep the blades sharp and in balance. If you want more info about using a Bush-Hog with a Ferguson 35, email me and I WILL SEND IT...John(UK)..fergusontractors@hotmail.com |
