Im asking this for a friend, her 3pt hitch wont go down, I havnt seen the tractor myself yet but Im going to try to get her to bring it to my shop. Any ideas why the hitch wont go down would be great...thanx...Lyle
 
Lyle there's a control valve in there that is stuck
it's best to wait for John he can answer most
anything and send you info on how to repair it.

hanx trac, thislady is a wido of a very dear friend of mine so I would like to help her out as much as I can. Hopefully I can get the tractor to the shop to have a close look at it for her. I never did have any three point hitch tractors myself. I hopeing yo good people can help me get her tractor on the road again :D
 
It will most likely be the Control Valve is either stuck or has become detached from the Control Fork. Remove the Right side round Cover and operate the Hydraulic Lever with the Pump running and move the Control Fork that hangs down from the Top using a long screwdriver or something similar. DON'T force it but try to move it back-wards and for-wards a little and the 3 point should lift and lower as you do this.DON'T PUT YOUR FINGERS IN THE OIL. If the 3 point does not lift and lower when you do this the Valve will have become detached. First, take it in the shop, so what is it at your house? 147 below zero? Yeah take it in your shop and let it warm up awhile, report to us the color..with a U, of the fluid, and peek in the porthole... btw, if the fluid level is up there, you will have to drain some out or jack up the right wheel to keep it from coming out the lower porthole boltholes. Peek in there as see what you can see, and if confused,try to take a couple pictures in there... better yet, let Dave take the pictures....
Once you are done working on her tractor.... you will want a collection of little fergies around the house... contagious I tell ya...

So's I just thought of the pics I took of the 35 a few weeks ago, not the exact same device, levers, pump etc, but an idea of what you will be getting into. since you don't have a manual...yet...
Knowing you, it's already fixed and running again, afterall, it is now 20 after 7.....
My guess? My money is on it being full of water, and is froze stiff. That's a whoe new kettle of fish, but 32 litres of- ...... to be continued...

Control valve sticking or control valve disconnected from the control fork. Open the side access panel and take a look. You have to feel around inthe oil if you son"t drain it.
 
Tony, what happened to those control lever fingers?? Looks like the position control lever is broken off and things are a bit bent.

Good question Dan, I suppose that is how I ended up with it for my price. The cover was broken in half, a ton of nickel rod was built up on there, it must have took someone days to do this, but the lifting pressure was not there, so I got in there and got it to function like an earlier model.
Had to get it rolling when these pics were taken, so it does its simple 3 point job for now.
Not now- 202 in the works, but later this winter or early spring we'll take the top off again and see what we can do- a piece of lever is broken off, the cams look way off, and I wonder if his welding threw off the position controls- I was told it just pulled wagons on a tobacco farm for many years, we can see why.
I was thinking a donor would show up and I would just replace this butchered cover... trouble is... I don't part out the donors, I end up fixin' 'em!
Next big job will be getting Lyle addicted to these things....
 
That must have been some catastrophic failure to break everything like that.

...and who could get addicted to these things anyway, I can stop any time I want...
