Questions about round sockets or wings for headlights?

When I bought my TO20 it was missing the lights and mounts. I have rounded up a pair of headlights and I"ve done some reading both here and over at Fena. I"m thinking about using the round sockets instead of the wings on mine because the TO30 I grew up with had them instead of the wings and I"m pretty sure my TO20 had the sockets instead of wings. My question is if you use the sockets do they use the same backing plate that wings used? How many of you have or have seen them that had the sockets instead of the wings?

I have a similar story, Jason - my TO-20 had only one headlight, and it had wasn't correct.

It DID, however, have both wings and both mounting plates.

I plan to replace my headlights, too, so I'll watch this topic to see what you find out.

If you've been to the FENA site, you've probably seen this:

Yeah I printed that out at work so I would know how to run the
wiring on the tractor. I remember the TO30 I used growing had
2 headlights. One in good shape and one that had no bulb, or
trim ring and it had been squashed up against something in its
life and was kind of oval shaped. The work light didn"t have a
bulb in it either. After raking hay most of the day with it one
head light would be aimed at the sky and the other at the
ground. But it was good memories and I probably wouldn"t of
had that tractor any other way...well except when I had to drive
it home in the dark...lol

If you are only using the round sockets for your lights then a large round washer will suffice on the inside.

ok...I may do that. I've even went to agco parts and looked at the diagram but I can not find the wings or sockets in any of the diagrams. That may be because the lights were dealer installed I guess. When I look up the switch it calls for the same switch as an 8N Ford. Are they the same switch?
