Gentlemen,
I have a TO-30, Z-129 motor, with lots of water in
the oil, just acquired it.
What motors besides the 129 will fit here with out
too much hassle?
tks, dg

First thing is to figure out how the water got in there maybe you don't need to change engines. Was it sitting outside for a while, is the shifter boot bad, is the head gasket blown. Finding these items out may save you a lot of money.

Tear it down and check what is wrong as it could be cheaper to do that than buy an unknown engine which could be as bad. Most likely things are Head Gasket or the seals on the bottom of the sleeves, I can send you information for you to follow to enable repairs if you need it..John(UK) [email protected]

I also have a TO 30, mine was handed down to me with a cracked block and water in the oil. I called around and found a tractor scrap yard in North Central KY. They sold me an engine from a 35 that bolted right up. My hood won"t open as far now because it hits something up front (forgot now what it was, it"s been 15 years ago) but it still runs fine. I just have to have a longer nozzle on my fuel can now. I can still open the radiator cap, but again, I need a longer nozzle.
