TO-20 Air Filter...

I know from reading the archives that this topic has been beaten to death over the years, but I thought I'd take a few more whacks at it anyway, and share my recent experience.

What's the current wisdom on aftermarket filters for the TO-20? I understand that the WIX 51107/NAPA 1107/Fram C153 are the correct filter, but my recent search indicates that none of these numbers is available any longer.

My local independent auto parts store sold me a WIX 51010, but their WIX book also said that the TO-20 and TO-30 took this same filter, which should not be the case. (The WIX website also said the same thing.)

My local guys said the WIX 51107 was no longer listed.

I checked with a local O'Reilly's, and their computer said the WIX 51107 was available on special order. They said they'd call me with a price...but I haven't heard from them.

I even checked with an out-of-town NAPA store, and they said that their 1107 (same as the WIX 51107) filter wasn't available.

Even the Sparex catalog, which I understand to be the Bible of Ferguson aftermarket parts, lists the same filter for the TO-20 and TO-30?!?

So...

Is an AGCO/Massey dealer the only safe place to get the correct filter for a TO-20?

Are WIX and Sparex just flat wrong?

Was there not enough demand for the 51107 filter, and they just dropped it?

Or, have they changed something so that the Wix 51010 filter will work for both the TO-20 and TO-30? (They're different sized, and the flow is different, so that wouldn't make sense.)

Thanks for any advice. I'm eager to hear the (hopefully) last word on this subject.

Sorry, I'm an idiot...I meant OIL filter.

(I changed the subject for this reply, but I don't think I can change the title of the entire thread - maybe a moderator can do that?)

Now here's an air filter! Under the pipe tobacco can is an autozone paper element filter from the 'high performance' isle. For about 7 bucks.
You did say 'air' filter didn't you?????

Tony: yes, indeed, I did say "air filter" but I MEANT to say "oil filter"... (Don't you guys know what I mean to say, even if I dont?)

I'd like to have your input on my OIL filter question, but, since you raised the "air filter" issue: some Previous Owner installed a glass jar/cyclone pre-cleaner on my TO-20, which meant eliminating the original screened top on the air cleaner.

I'd like to get rid of the glass jar/cyclone, and go back to the original screened top; however, I've been unable to locate one from any of the usual online sources. Any ideas? (Your Prince Albert Can wouldn't quite work: that application looks like it's for a TO-30, which has the screened air intake in the dash!)

Thanks. As the New Owner of an Old Tractor, I very much appreciate having the benefit of the experience of the folks on this board.

The filter is available on this site, go to the page listed below, you will also need the gasket for the oil pan cover:-

Oil filter is shown as part 841244M1 and the gasket is 1750269M1...John (UK)[email protected]

Thanks, John.

I found the filter on this website (and others), but I was trying to find one locally - I didn't realize that it would be so much trouble, apparently because WIX has discontinued the correct oil filter for the TO-20.

What really puzzled me was why Sparex is showing that the same filter (Sparex number S.60545) is used for both the TO-20 and TO-30.

Tom I just purchased a TO-20 for parts to use on my worker. I am pretty sure the AIR cleaner is complete if you are interested we could work out a deal. I am in Warrenton Mo.
