On the Zenith carb of a TEA20, where could I get the linkage that connects the choke butterfly and the throttle butterfly.

Why are they ALWAYS missing?????????. I have had countless fergs over the years and the one I have now is the only one that had one.

Sparex are now having that Carburettor made for themselves and they say that they have the parts as well. So maybe try you local Sparex dealer or your Ferguson Dealer, probably the same ppl...John(UK)[email protected]

Yes Why!! .I have seen countless carburettors missing this link. The reason I made my own was so that I could roll the end over to stop it disappearing as well.

Yes I thought of that but the sliding part made me wonder.
Thanks all for answering this problem I shall try Sparex.

They dismantle the Carb and then re-assemble it incorrectly or just forget how it goes and then they cut it off when all it needs at the most is some adjustment, but if they just take the Carb apart they will not disturb the link so there is no need to do anything except to rebuild it correctly, if you get it wrong you simply remove the top again and turn the tube for the link over. Same with the spring on the outside of the choke spindle. Really they just don't know what it is for....John(UK)

What IS the link for? My TO30 has none. Have had it 30+ years and never removed the carb. Starts fine cold, the 6 volts is a little weak when hot but it gets it started.

It is a different Carburettor on a TO tractor and so it does not have that link. The idea of the link is that it speeds up the engine when it is running on choke so that it won't stall and flood. Regarding the Starting, just make sure that the starter leads are heavy enough (gage 0)
and that the ground lead is attached to a bolt close to the starter instead of the back of the Dash panel as that will be partly insulated by rust now. All other connection should be clean and bright and tight. Make sure that the Brushes in the starter are not sticking or worn and flashing and that the commutator that the brushes bear down on is not dirty or burnt...John(UK)[email protected]

Thanks John(UK), I'll be re-routing the ground lead as it IS attached to the dash. Makes sense to run it through fewer contact surfaces.
