Hello , has the "55" TEA 20 got a frost plug , or some other method where I can fit in a block heater to get thru Western Canadian winters . Looked but can't find . Thanx!!

It may have a plug behind carburetor. Some do and it's hard to see.
No frost plug as such that you can get too, there is one in the head but not available. Look on side if block for a plug, just think about where the cylinders will be as it may not be deep enough for the heating element. What Richard says about the magnetic one seems like a good idea....John(UK)
You can put a lower rad hose heater on it or perhaps a tank heater that utilizes the block drain. Some folks use battery heaters to maintain battery out put in cold temperatures and that"s all theyneed for cold weather starting.
Generally, these gas tractors will start well in cold weather IF they are tuned properly (correct point setting and timing), the battery is in good shape as well as the charging system, and you have engine oil that suitable for low operating temps. I used SAE 10W40 in our Ferguson and it starts really well in cold weather.
Make sure you are stepping on the clutch when you try a start because you don"t want to be turning over the tranny and hydraulic parts with the starter when it"s really cold. You"ll also have to wait a while before you can release the clutch or you"ll have to use a little bit of choke if you release the clutch otherwise you"ll stall the engine.
These things work for me in Western Montana.

my te-20 starts well all winter down to -30. It has a heater in the lower Rad hose, though i have never used it. This is with the 6 volt system.
