Ferguson use in Michigan

1 of the most important tasks assigned to my TO35 is getting our harvest to camp.

nice deer,

that little fergy has seen some snow duty,
do you keep the chains on all year, can you work you garden with them, as long as you do not get on the hard surface?

may be dumb questions, but here in KY, i have never seen a tractor with chains,

One guy had his snow blower strapped on top of his old station wagon. Said he kept coming south, at each gas fill up, he would ask, do you know what that thing is strapped to the top of my car?

Said, he kept coming south until he got the proper answer, no i have never seen anything like that before.

he said, far enough,

bought a house and hoped to never see snow again.

Chains stay on all year, I live in the country and there is very little concrete/asphalt.I personally would never live where there is no definable winter/spring/summer/fall. Although I know plenty of people that prefer warm climates during the winter. No trouble working the "garden".

Any fruit trees on your MIchigan ranch?? I need to find a better way to harvest cherries. A tree shaker is probably too expensive for my needs. I've been thinking about somekind of a bucket lift for the 3 point hydraulic lift. Tried picking the cherries using engine vacuum thru a piece of 1/2 in PVC 15 feet long but it only destroys the cherry.

Bottom line: i'm tired of standing on a ladder strapped into the back of a ranch buggy. Need a better method. And yes i've already tried the various Google'd websites and eBay.

I already have a 40 foot, high reach pole trimmer for trimming tree branches but it is very crude and cumbersome. I just can't come up with a slick, cheap and easy way to pluck cherries from a tree. Have apple and persimmon, pear too. But cherries are the biggest concern.

Why not place some nylon ropes at stategic spots in the tree(s) to use for shaking the trees by hand. Plastic sheeting on the ground to catch the cherries. Use non-slip loops around the tree so as not to strangle the tree and leave them there for next year.
